Default Black and decker jump starter, work ok on a Z?

http://www.blackanddecker.com/produc...view=3#details

I ask because I had a brand new battery for my TL, I went to jump start my Z using the never used before battery and sure enough, it wasn't able to turn the car over. =(

I would like to have something like the black and decker unit, however I worry that it wont be powerful enough to turn the car over.

Anyone use it before?

I have never used it but the ad says it will. If it doesn't take it back and get your money back, no loss.

Walmart has it for cheap, if I can avoid returning something to walmart I will do whatever it takes.

?. . .where do u store your never used battery?. .if you leave it on the floor. .it will drain. .you need to put it on top of something like wood. .and how long did you have hat never used battery? it's not going to last sitting their forever. .i'd invest in a trickle charger in that case. .

450 amps looks a little weak. .i'd go higher so as to last longer incase it takes a few trys to start the Z. . .i have a 1100 amp jumper..and sometimes thats not enough unless it's fully charged. .

Are you jumping the car correctly? I don't see how the z can't start when the TL is running. new battery or not. Unless the battery on the z is beyond the point of dead.

My Z battery is about 6 months old, my Z goes out maybe 1-2 times a month. Something seems to be draining my battery I think its my amp/sub so my Z battery is 100% dead.

I have a 2004 TL battery in the car is 4 years old and is showing signs of slightly slower cracks when the weather is below freezing so I bought a new battery to replace it. I took the new battery and stuck it on a wooden table in the garage for 3-4 days till I had enough time to install it in the TL

I found the Z dead on a day I wanted to drive it, thankfully I had a brand new TL battery sitting on my table, I went to jump it and the Z would turn over but maybe one or two turns very slowly, DOH! I backed my Z out of the garage (pushing it) and used my TL to jump my Z with the TL running the Z still wouldn't turn over fast, so I had to leave the TL running with it hooked up to the Z for 3-4 minutes, then the Z fired right up.

That's why I question if this black and decker unit will do the job, as of right now I'm just going to slap my battery charger on the Z and pop the fuse for my radio/amp and see if the battery holds a charge for more then a week, thats how long it lasted last time around.
