Default Heater problems..

Not sure if all Z's do this but When I go out on break or lunch I sit there and get my read on but don't want to freeze my *** off. I turn on the car and let it heat up for 10 minutes and my gauge shows it's warmed up completely then I throw on the heat and it's cold unless I give it some gas it'll stay cold and I'll have to hold the throttle down at a steady 1500 rpm's just to keep the heat coming. I'm wondering if this is normal or If I should check for something in particular? My wrx produced heat as long as the car was on idle go whenever. thanks for any help. -Chris-

LOL I was going to post the same question. I dont know if it's normal or not but my '07 does the same thing. When you rev the engine it gets noticably warmer air and seems to ummm blow harder as well.

I think the heater is actually exhaust gas

Yea this morning it was 31 outside and I hit every friggin red light. So even if the car is warmed up, I can't blow hot air at a stop Also I know when anything is on as far as a/c or heat I think when your WOT it auto shuts everything off then when you let off it comes back on IIRC.

yeah, I got the same problem. I have an 2004 and it gets hot and then cold for some strange reason. The air condition light comes on once in a while. Any ideas?

Check this thread out. It is because there is air in the system and you will have to bleed it. The last comment on the thread is really good!! It tells you how to do it.
