Auto A/C, No heat with idle...
So if you read my vague topic description I have questions,
First and foremost,
Is A/C On the default for the Z, pretty much anytime I turn on the car, or change any settings with my climate control, A/C is on.
Second,
While my Z is at idle, even after driving it, it does not heat up the car anymore, like while I'm driving around its find, but if I leave it idle in the morning to warm up before I go to work, its still just as cold as when I started it until I get moving.

[1] Yes, for whatever reason they designed it to switch your AC on whenever you change virtually any environment settings. It's annoying. No fix that I am aware of.
[2] Don't panic, you probably just need to bleed air out of your coolant line
and top off the coolant tank. There is a long thread about this, along with instructions and a pic, further back in this section.

if he's never done a coolant flush or thermostat change. .why would he have air in the system to bleed out though??. . . if you do need to bleed it. .passenger side near firewall on the cooling hose there should be a plastic screw. .thats your bleeder. .

The default is a small annoyance but I suspect it is set that way for automatic De-Humidifying of air on start up (an A/C removes moisture from the air)
As far as the Heat ---Thermostat or not---there are many vehicles that have that quirk due to the fact that the water does not get hot enough til you put a load on the engine. If you are at an idle and your air is cold, bring up the RPMs and it will start to heat after a minute or so.

I never use my A/C so i pulled the fuse. .that delt with it not coming on when i turn on the heat. .but then i realized if i never use it least a little it will go bad. .so i just let it happen and i turn it off right after the fact. .

maybe its losing a little bit of coolant, small leak somewhere. that not only will allow additional air but also will not allow heat while at idle.
its probably low on coolant, top it off, try to bleed it out, likely be good to go. start simple before going stupid and changing a water pump. a simple, check the fluid, maybe do a pressure test first will go a long way.
95% of the cars that roll through here without heat at idle, just low on coolant.
take it from someone that has been in the bizz for many many years

1st off. .How many miles does the car have. . .# 2. .yes Check for a coolant leak somewhere. .notice where you park it if there is any puddles or signs of coolant on the ground. .#3 check to see if it needs to be topped off.Personally I think it may need a new thermostat, but thats just me. ..if you've never done coolant system work there should be NO air in the system and even if you have a leak air should still not get into the system due to the fact that PSI's pushing out not sucking in. .so from a leak you wont get air in the system only thing you get from a leak is built up steam, which would be the only air i know of which in return will pressurize the engine and either blow a hose or worse case the head gasket.. . .but if a simple bleeding takes care of the problem then for at least a Z i've learned something new.. .other problems could be a blocked heater core hose water pump not circulating properly yada yada. .your just going to have to rule each thing out 1 by 1. ..
