today i started to do a radiator drain and refill and after removing the radiator drain plug and draining the coolant i realized to do a full flush you had to remove the drain plugs in the cylinder block and everthing... well i dont think im prepared to go that far as i am not that mechanically inclined so can i just pour the new coolant back into the radiator top until full and be done with it? or have i already reached a point of no return? again, all i drained was the radiator not the cylinder block or resivoir tank, both of those remained untouched...

ok now im freakin out cuz i did that and took the car around the block and now it is running hot, what should i do?

After filling the radiator with water, run the motor with the heater ON. Then drain again.

you obviously have air bubbles in the system.

You need to bleed the radiator. There is most likely air in the system.
Use the Air bleeded when filling. slightly unscrew and pour in more water/coolant, until fluids come out of the hole. Screw the bleeder back on tight. Turn on car and heater. Wash rinse repeat.

i have already filled it back up with 50/50 coolant and i found a thread that said this happens when there is air in the system, which im assuming is what happened since i did not remove the relief plug when i refilled it... so do i still need to redrain and refill or just attempt to get the air out of the system?

ok, update... i started the car and let it run and after a few minutes the fans came on and it started to get hot, i turned the air relief plug and steam came out then coolant, i retightened and waited about 30 seconds and loosened again more steam then coolant, i repeated this until is was only coolant coming out, i then turned the car off and let it sit for about 15-20 minutes and restarted waited 5 minutes and tried the air relief plug again but no steam or coolant came out and i waited about 10 minutes, so i turned the heater on and waited another 10 minutes still no steam or coolant, but the heater will not blow cold now... what should i do?

With the car off and cool, fill with more coolant/water, while the air relief is open. Close the air relief when coolant starts to pour out. It took me a while to full air out the system.

ok, i will let it cool off for about another 20 minutes then i will remove the radiator cap and fill with coolant with the drain plug open like you said, after that what do i do?

I would try with the car off, fill as much as you can. Close everything up, start car.

i filled the radiator until it started overflowing but nothing came out the relief valve

haha, this is going to sound funny, play it the coolant hose going from the rad to the block on the passenger side. Should get some movement of the coolant.

Just keep working the lines, starting the car filling reliefing, etc. It'll take a while, but I'm sure you'll get it
