Unhappy Codes???

Well I have an 04 350z. I know its still under warranty, but I put XS Power test pipes, Greddy TT Evo2 catback, Eibach Lowering springs, and have a plenum ready to be put on. So I believe with all this installed, it would void the warranty, UNLESS i put everything back on, which would be a pain. So I would like to eliminate that problem. Anyway, if anyone can help me out with these codes, it would be awesome.

P1273
Manufacurer Contrl.
Fuel Air Metering

P0442
EVAP emission
Control System
Leak (small)

I did some research and went to an OBD website and got this:

P1273= Cylinder#3 High to Low Side Open

And I just assume the Evap emission might be from relocating the Canister behind the car, because we just installed the exhaust, OR could just be the gas cap.

ANY IDEAS?

1273 is a problem but i would bet the evap is because a hose is off or gas cap.

What would you think 1273 would be?

1273 indicates that A/F sensor 1 is reading a "too lean" condition.
If you put test pipes on without a non-fouler, then that's probably your problem.

Most likely right on the 1273. The evap problem is most likely either a hose is not tight or routed incorrectly.

I do have sparkplug non-foulers on.

At first, it shot out the 02 sensor codes. So I got the spark plug foulers and put them on. The Service Engine light stayed off for 3 days and came on today.

well for me i have the light on only sometimes i have a code reader being a mechanic i clear it and drive it to get it tested and never turn it off it i have found out it only happens at idle i think it must have something to do with how freely the exhaust flows through. If i dont shut it off the test goes through ok and the second i turn it off and turn it on it comes back. As best i can tell its no real problem

Well I work for advance as well, and I have an OBD scanner there. I had cleared the codes earlier yesterday, and literally came back on sitting throught the drive-through at McDonalds about 3 hours later...
So yours stays off as long as you are driving?

Did some more research and found this:

http://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread/182298

And right next to 1273: P1273 Air/Fuel Ratio Sensor 1

None of this is major though? Is it okay to drive my car around like this??? Emissions is the only thing that has me worried.

What does this mean:

http://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_cod...d/DTC_2004.htm

This is what that link says for that code:

P1273 - Cylinder 3 High to Low Side Open

DESCRIPTION: Indicates a high voltage condition exists at the injector output of the NG module for cylinder No. 3 when low voltage is expected. Fuel injector No. 3 output circuit short to voltage.

POSSIBLE CAUSES: Injector. NG Module.

DIAGNOSTIC AIDS: PID Data Monitor INJ3F fault flags = YES.

It means nothing, those are from a Ford. Codes over 1000 are manufacturer specific.

Below is the description from the Nissan FSM.

Any suggestions to fixing the problem? Is it worth putting stock exhaust back on to take it to the dealership? I put the test pipes and catback. I really want to avoid the dealership.

well no all they are goin to do is clear it and wait for it to come back doubtful they will replace the sensor that is the only thing ive heard may work. and ive been driving my car with it on like almost a year and no problems. its a idle thing not a driving thing if i do in town it stays out for while its more when i do hw and then in town it comes on quick or alot of stop go.

P1273
Manufacurer Contrl.
Fuel Air Metering

This could be a bad sensor, a small exhaust leak. This code relates to the upstream 02 sensors...not the ones in your test pipe.

And then again....the mods might just be making your car run a little lean, and its causing this code.

I would definately double check for intake and exhaust leaks everywhere.

The Evap thing is from relocating your evap canisters, and maybe a hose is kinked, or misrouted.....should be an easy enough fix.

Nope....

Of course, with an optimized retune with the UTEC, there is probably 10-15whp on the table for you.
