Arrow Moisture in the headlights...

I got my car on the 17th and since the 1st night moisture was collecting in the headlights. I inquired with someone from Nissan and was advised that it is normal, that the headlights were designed to breathe and moisture would collect and then dissipate again. Is this accurate or just BS? Hard to belieive, I observed many others without it. Let me know, thnx.

Angry headlight moisture

Absolutely inaccurate!

Please contact Nissan Consumer Affair at 800-647-7261 and tell them your dealer shrugged you off with such incompetant answer.

Moisture is there for about a couple weeks to a month. Happens to most, as well as mine. It goes away.

If it does not, then I would examine the housing to see if there are any cracks and such, then take it to the dealer.

yeah, it'll probably go away, but you can probably get it changed under warranty if you fight hard enough. moisture means there's a leak in the seal somewhere.

In my old car I took a drill with a very very small tip (about 1-2mm in diameter) and made a hole on the very bottom of the light. I used to collect moisture all the time, but right after I drilled the holes everything went away and you would never find the hole in them either.

The 350Z headlight cover is NOT sealed and moisture inside may be normal. The more often you use your lights the less likely you will see it. A sudden decrease in ambient temperature will bring it back. Excessive amounts of water may indicate a leak and the need for repair.

See TSB New Vehicle Service Hints NTB02-112 in the TSB thread.
