Default Gas gauge shows empty, SES light on

I installed a new head unit yesterday( avic-d3). Now my gas gauge isn't working and my service engine soon light is on. I took the dash apart again today to check all the connections, and they are all good. No crimped wires or anything.
All of the other gauges are working fine. Trip gauge works exect for DTE.
Any ideas? I cant think of anything else to try and I think if i take it to nissan they will carge me out the wazzoo to trouble shoot it beacuse it happend when i installed the radio.

does your tach work?

Theres that white box just under neath the headunit, you have to make sure you plug it in. It controls your gauge cluster.

I also have an avic-d3 and sometimes my gas gauge reads empty. It's really random...has only happened maybe 2-3 times since I've had the car but I usually just turn the car off and restart it and it reads accurately.
