Default choppy steering on 07 350z

I am unsure how long this has been happening, but i noticed it this last weekend while drifting at balcony.

i can lightly feel it at low speed now, but i can really feel it on counter steer.

What happens is on countersteer, the wheel shakes, and when i am feeding angle in and out, the steering becomes very notchy. almost like a combined feeling of a loose rim and a bad power steering pump.

no unusual noises, fluid levels ok.

i tried searching on this and couldnt find anything, anyone experienced this?

haven't personally experianced it and I would suggest just taking it to the dealer and getting it covered under warrenty. My only concern is when you tell them "well i experiance such and such when i'm counter steering at my 100mph drift" lol

Burn any flat spots on your tires?

i just thought i would bump this up as i am having similar issues.

i have aftermarket wheels and am lowered. my tires were rubbing on the left front just a bit and thought that was it. swapped out front wheels for slightly narrower wheels and lost the rub but still have the notchy feeling on slalom type manuevers.

if i switch from a left hander to right hander semi quickly the steering almost locks up and does not want to move.

i also noticed it today while bedding in new pads. is the p/s fluid boiling? never had that happen in a car so i don't know what that feels like.

any takers....

btw 06 touring 6spd, tockico d-spec springs/shocks, hotchkis sways, stillen headers, work wheels--put factory fronts back on to check, spl front upper arms.

Default steering

Water gets into where the shaft for the steering is and causes the steering to feel tight, I went to my dealer and they regreased the area where the steering shaft is and it went away, they said if it happens again they would have to replace the shaft. The problem has come back and the car is going back to the dealer.
