I was recenty driving my 04 z... base version 6 spd manual.... ive got a few bolt on parts including cool air intake.. i was late to work and was givin gas liek no tomorow.. it was drizzling out at the time and i wasnt in any puddles but suddenly it felt like i hit the rev limiter when at 5k rpm..... the car from that point on jerked around even at 2k rpm as if it wasnt being fed fuel... my guess is that the cool air brought in some water from the already wet filter when the rpms were high and it got into the engine... this has hapenend to me before with the rev limiteer feeling, and its always in the rain, but theres never any probelms after words with teh car when i go slow, this time i was goin slow and it was jerkin aroudn and even when i was at light the rpms kept goin up and down form 800 to 1200... it just wouldnt settle... im pretty sure it was just the air intake sucking in some water.... is this gonna have a bad effect on my engine? rusted injectors come into picture? please let me know of any minor problem that coudl occur from this dillema and if its even the intakes fault??

 

sounds like MAF sensor. go to the autopartstore and get a can of MAF cleaner. did you get CEL light?

Any word on this issue?? did the cleaning help?? My car does same thing I have a CAI as well...
