Default Cupping

Normally, cupping is caused by a bad shock . The wheel/tire bounces around because there is too little damping in the suspension.

the truth is NNA has no idea...or they don't care since the newer batch has no problem.. If it worrys you, then either trade in the older model and get 2004 or just get tires every 10,000 miles..

I plan on doing the second option..but not at 10k, maybe every 20k-25k.

What does NNA consider to be the "newer batch" that doesn't have this problem??

Default Tire cupping

My VIN # 111556 and I have about 8K miles with no cupping. I saw a pix of a tire in another thread with severe feathering and what looked like cupping on the inner most part of the tread. Is this the thing you are noticing?? It sorta looks like there is too much negative camber & too much toe out.

I'd also be curious if we could compare build dates with this problem. I've got a three-week old Z with a build-date of 5/03.

Just wondering if I should plan on seeing the tire problems in the future. Does anyone know if there's a "magical" cut-off build-date?

Right now, I've only got 900 miles on it.

Thanks,

October/november 02 build date here.

Tire cupping & feathering.

While driving it, the interior sounds like instead of 18 inch wheels, im riding on 4 Hoover Vacume cleaners.
