Exclamation Automotive Electrical Expertise needed

Below is a picture of a wire plug that connects to the radiator fan of my Z. As you can see its f&*ked up. Something like a critter has ate through the wires and now I must replace the wires but this one is a little tricky cause its so close to the end of the plug. Is it possible to get a new plug like this or is there a tool to remove the wires.

Take the plug to an auto parts store or your dealer and they should be able to match it up for you.

In all due respect... little chance of a match up. I have taken many apart if I had to and rewired. Its takes a little know how. If they put it together, It can be taken it apart and modded. Another bet is get online and find a wrecked one that you can have cut at 8" or so.

Looms at the dealer are HIGH unless it is less than a foot or so

For the time being, there is no reason that they cant be soldered and shrink tubed, deleting both plugs

yea that idea can work but first i wouldn't never be able to put the radiator fan and shroud back in and solder it all back up. Plus if it needed to come back out for some reason be a pain in the ***.

I had seen on one site there was this tool that you could use to push the wires out of a plug but i am not sure if it would work with this one.

Just had an idea that I might delete these plugs and go with some other ones. Anybody do this or what you think about that?

My point was---If there is a will there is a way. It would just depend on the level of abilitys. Without going out and looking at it, I was just throwing options. Seems to me that is a rather long loom that runs through eyelets on the fan shroud, so your simplest fix would be to find one off another Nissan (not just a Z) and splice it in

You can use bullet or spade (male and female) connectors on both ends if you cannot find a replacement plug.

Sorry eazzy I misunderstood ya. Does nissan only use these kind of connectors or they pretty common in other cars?

In the long run I think this what I will have to do since it seems like the original connectors are gonna be hard to find

^^Yeah, just make sure you have a good crimping tool. Heatshrink and tying them down will help too.

This would pretty much be unique to Nissans, maybe Infinitys ----And unique to that connection. Plugs are configured differently so they are mated to the correct Male/Female.

I just looked at mine and there is a short extention that plugs directly into the fan----That Male may very well be the same as the Male that you have probs with ---so if you just get the short pigtail , that may be your cut and splice piece

You don't have to by the entire harness. We have a cabinet full of all kinds of different connectors. They are aftermarket but a better solution if yours can not be fixed.

Is it a four pin/four wire connector? I can't see from the pic and don't feel like going to find a z on our lot.
