Unhappy $850 for my Unified Meter A/C Amp!

So mice decided to use my dash as there new home for the winter and ate all the wiring and ruined my Meter box/amp and now Nissan is charging me $850 including parts and labor. Am I getting screwed?

Thanks

before i stored my Z (it was only temporary b/c i ended up selling my suv alot earlier than expected) i did some research and i found one trick to keeping mice away. You take a bar of irish spring and chop it up, then divide into 4 or 5 amounts and make a little pouch out of paper towels. Put the pouches around where they would enter (either the storage spot or enter the car, or better yet both- soap is cheap) i did this and i had no rodents troubles, it was on a porsche related group or forum i found this trick...but i did not save the link?? so i cant past up the source.

apparently there is a compound in irish spring that mice cannot stand?

its too late to save yours but maybe next year or other enthusiasts can use this trick.

Sorry about the sarcastic remark.....seriously though the unified meter is only $180.00 and not too dificult to replace. Their price seems high unless there is other wiring damage they are trying to fix.

at $200 an hour for labor, it's easy to see how you got that quote. $180 part turns into $250 x 3 hours of labor = BAM you get screwed
