high pitched noise in cabin of car?
Why was this moved to maintenance and repair? This is nothing to do with "maintenance". the car is only 5 days old for christ sake and 100% stock with nothing added or changed or modded. I am not asking to repair anything. I am simply asking in a forum that gets the most traffic, if they have heard this noise too.
I was just working on my car today (replacing the driver's side window motor, yay.) and noticed this kind of noise. I really noticed it while adjusting the window since I was in the quiet garage with the key in the ON position (engine off). I did a little probing, and at least in my case, seems to be coming from the throttle body. If I unplug the cable to the TB, noise goes byebye. Plug it back in, and it stays gone, until I turn the car off and back on. Then its back. Not sure what this is indicating...
Oh, btw, mine is an 04 with 54k miles.

You guys are killing me!
If you hear it with the radio off its the Fuel pump.
If you hear it with the radio on, it your cheap stereo install.
If you hear it when you build speed its your rear end (mostly after market LSD)
My car sounds like a 747 with my dual fuel pumps.

I have the exact same noise in my 04 base. You described it really well, with the whole old tube TV thing. I can hear it with the car idleing, parked and with the stereo off. I have heard many people say its the fuel pump. I would lean towards that because I can hear it with the car not moving and the stereo off. It's still there with the stereo on to. I don't know about the whole rear defrost thing. I never really use it because I only drive it in the summer and when its nice out. I bought the car about 1.5 years ago and it has been there the entire time I have owned the car.
