Okay so i painted my headlights about two months ago. I sealed um up and installed them and all was well. like two weeks ago one started to fog up pretty bad (like i could see droplets of water inside)
. The other day the headlight just went out. I'm not sure if it's the bulb or the ballast but i kinda need to know before i take them back out (car is a DD). Do you think the ballast fried of the bulb went out due to the moisture inside? also the other headlight is perfectly fine, and the highbeams and parking lights in the dead light work fine. Whats throwing me off is that if the ballast fried shouldn't the fuse have blown, taking out both light, which makes me suspect the bulb? Any help is appreciated! Thanks
Is it illegal to drive with one headlight? it lights up the road better than 2 halogen bulbs, but i don't want a ticket over the legality of it.

two things
1. re-work on that one headlight.
2. remove your ballast from it, shake off the excess waters and let it on a hot sunny day.
That should solve your problem. Let me know if that works

Open the Ballast ----there are 3 screws I think. Spray it down with Liquid Wrench and then CRC Electonic cleaner, then seal it. Its solid state.
Also ---get youre gauge out and chk voltage

does anyone repair headlights? I had my headlights blacked out by a local shop and they royally effed them up.. Took a dremmel to them rather than heating them to open them up =(
Now I have the same problem with my headlights going out (moisture related)

I wouldn't suggest turning your lights on/feeding voltage to the lights until you get the short taken care of. When the lights are improperly sealed, the condensation drips down into the little divot in the ballast where the plug goes. The water collects in the plug hole and creates a short. Just take the light out, remove the ballast and get the water out of the plug area. The inside of the ballast should still be dry.
Reseal the lights with a lot of silicone- make sure there aren't any gaps. Reconnect everything before screwing the light down and turn the lights on to see if they are working again. If they still aren't, most likely you will need that new ballast that the member above offered you.
