Angry Alignment Issues, Compression Rod etc etc

Hello everyone out there,

Im glad I found this site, I have an issue with my one month old Z that seems to have stemmed from the alignment being off but let me elaborate.

After a few weeks of driving I felt as if the alignment was slightly off, but who would think this of a brand new car.

I took my car into the dealership and the service guy looked at me as if I were insane to think such a thing. I told him it just felt off but maybe its just me.

Hence, they had a tech take it out and test it.

The service manager calls me two hours later and informs me that infact the alignment is off and by the way, they are replacing the "compression rod" as well.

Now I wont lie, Im clueless when it comes to these issues, so I asked if the car was ok to drive while waiting for the part, and the guy said yes. He was very reluctant to answer my questions and just said not to worry its covered and they will fix it for free.

The part is about $300.00 and im now getting the feeling that they are not telling me the whole story.

All the service manager cared to tell me was that when he input "alignment" into his system it automatically came back with a reorder for this part.

I have also noticed the excessive wear on my tires, infact just a few days ago I wondered what the hell was happening, my car isnt driven so heavily to warrant such early wear and tear.

If anyone out there has gotten this response from their service dealer, your input is greatly appreciated.

Oh...and to make matters worse. The dealerships tech took my car on a joy ride and bottomed it out so severly it needs the who grill and front end piece replaced. Im still waiting to hear back from the GM of the dealership to let me know when they will FIX my car.

Thanks to everyone.

Still love my Z,

the compression rod is part of a TSB to correct drifting to the right. Its perfectly normal for them to have to chagne that.
