I am having problems with my reverse gear and 5th gear when I am shifting. I know to go into reverse you are supose to push down prior to it letting you get into that gear... but with mines I can put it into reverse without the push down safety feature. Also because of this when I try to shift into 5th gear the shifter goes passed 5th gear and gets jammed. I know this isn't the clutch because it doesn't feel like its slipping and I believe the 5th gear issue is because of this whole reverse problem. What can this be? I have the dealer checking it out and I am thinking its something to do with the transmission but they are saying its something to do with the shifter not the transmission(obviously so its not covered in my warranty).... my car is right now 37k miles so I am over that warranty but i still have my powertrain... Need some advise on this prior to the dealer calling me cause i know they are going to try and screw me over.

NM I got that fixed!! Its sooo much better now!! It was when it was taken to the dealer awhile back to check something on the transmission they installed the shifter incorrectly so it was letting me put it into reverse because that lil piece that is in place to make you have to push down to shift was on backwards... dealer put it on correctly and it feels perfect!!
