Default Service Engine Soon Light ! OMG =[

I just changed my oil 2 days ago ... after i was done i took it around the block and parked few hours later i went out parked came back and wehn i turned on the car i saw the service engine soon light at that time i felt a cold chill running down my spine i read about the gas lid and i closed it tight so it wasnt that i mean i dont know what it could be this is my first time it turns on its an 2003 z ive been told that its a sensor what do you think that it could be ? any ideas would b helpful

Go get the code read and we can help you out more. Probably something small list your mods.

That is a crappy feeling. Just get the code read and we should be able to offer some help. You will get a lot of answers until that time. Some may be quite funny.

Guys you got it all wrong the engines not blown..........the muffler bearing has locked up.

check your oil filter could be defective. I wouldn't drive it.

Not sure about Zs (I'm just about to buy an early one but having trouble finding one that isn't feathering tires... another story) but if it's anything like the wifes Passat, she left the gas cap loose, the warning light came on, I closed it up and the light stayed on. Had to have it shut off with a code reader at the local garage.
Yes it could be blown, yes it could be a bad filter, it could be that you didn't let the oil drain down before you checked the level. If I were you I would get the code read pref without moving the car.

Have you checked your blinker fluid? j/k.

Go get the code checked. Autozone let's you borrow the tool. The plug for the ECU is behind the hood latch release lever. Then post your results.

i got it now it was a small air leak due to the oil changed i made but it was erased so my ***** is happy again

how on earth does an oil change cause a CEL to come on??? just for giggles what was the code?
