Send a PM to dvlad (Dan). I believe he got his replaced.

I've got no feathering as of yet at 4500 miles with a low VIN of 13**. I'm heading out on a 2000 mile roundtrip drive to New York on Thursday, so we'll see how they look when I get back. Last time I was at my dealer, Arlington Nissan, I asked the service manager about the feathering. He said he's seen it on one Z with about 6000 miles on it. I forgot to ask him if they replaced the tires. He said he would check to see if things are in spec next time I brought the car in.

Well, by the end of my round trip to NY, my tires were making the tell-tale feathering noise. Now at 6700 miles, the car is at Arlington Nissan as we speak having the front tires replaced. I didn't even have to ask for them to do it. Another member took his car in with me and they are going to replace his tires also. He has 6500 miles.

What does tire feathering sound like?

Like the tires are rubbing against the inside of the wheel well.
