I went to a locksmith/key maker today and he said he couldn't make a copy of my key. I had a blank with me and told him I already have the transponder chip but he said he didn't have the necessary tools to make it. Do I need to go to a specialist?

 

Why not the dealership?

 

I just need the key cut. Dealership is going to rape me with the charges.

 

just pay the $90 for the spare key at the stealership...

 

Is there really no other way of making another master key other then paying the ridiculous 90$?

 

Well, I had a blank. I had to take it to a specialist for some reason. 2 hardware stores said they couldn't do it. Had to take it to a "master" lock smith. Paid $2.00, and key works fine.

 

How much did you pay for the spare+getting the key cut? I need another master key.
