Default Overheating? HELP!

ok before anyone says "do a search noob", i already have and have also been a Z owner and member of this sight for 2 years. but anyway, i am getting a burning plastic smell from my engine cover. so i pulled it off and the motor is still running real hot. went to the stealership and got the oil changed and the coolant flushed and changed, but still having the same problem. been rolling around with no cover and just curious if anyone else has had this problem and what they did to fix. thanks everyone.

well the engine cover is plastic, and when it gets hot it does smell. as long as it is not melting i am sure you are ok. also i would check for the infamous plastic bag that might have got caught up there, that would really stink

Kind of reminds me of Ed mcmahon asking Johnny Carson

How hot is it Johnny?

In other words what is the engine temperature?

Bad thermostat? If your engine is running hot enough to melt the cover designed for it, your temp gauge should be way high.
