I just got my Z last week and the stereo was fine then. I would get all the stations and there was no static but a few days after i cleaned and washed the car every station has static. I can only get like 1 or 2 stations and their not that clear. I didnt take anything apart, move any panels, nothing on the interior. All i did was wash the outside of the car. Any ideas on what could just suddenly make the static?

 

Must have done something to the antenna. Check that first.

 

I checked it, nothings loose, the antenna is screwed on there tight. Theres no buttons on the radio that would cause static is there? Cause i was messing around with all of them to see what they all did.

 

Haha nevermind, i got it. The last owner put in an external 6 disk changer and the little screen is in the dash, with it on the reception is really bad. i mustve turned it on when i was messing with everything. This can be closed/deleted.
