Hi,
I just got this code pulled on my 06.
I have been getting a strong fuel smell in the cabin, when I fill the gas up to a full tank.
I have been noticing a rattling noise (loose/hollow metal noise) when I go over fine bumps in the road coming from right behind the passenger side, near where I believe the fuel pump/evap canister is.
Anyone else experienced this? I keep seeing people saying to replace the Evap canister O-Ring, but mention nothing of something in that area rattling around.
Gas cap is on TIGHT lol

Open the glove box, take everything out, then remove the hidden compartment cover on the bottom, gently pry out the bottom tray (use a small screwdriver to loosen the tabs on left and right tabs closest to you and then lift the tray out). Check for fuel leaks. There's another fuel level sender on the driver's side that's easier to get to, so you can check that as well.
p.s., Don't use a match to help you see what you're doing.

I found the culprit when it comes to that rattle. It turns out, it is not the fuel pump assembly as I had once thought. That rattle noise is coming from the front dash right in front of the passenger, inside the plastic there towards the bottom. I slapped around in that area and I'm able to mimic the rattle I get while I hit bumps. Something has come loose in there... that's an entirely different matter now.
So the fuel pump assembly is fine (thank goodness). I will still try and pry it open like you suggested and try to find signs of leaks. I can access the O-Ring after prying that area open, correct? And I'm assuming the driver's side fuel sender is located behind me where that sub enclosure gap is? (that's where I store my amplifiers)
