yeah I tried to get some attention. I have no idea what this problem is. It's very annoying and I'd like it to go away. Any clutch/transmission masters out there?

i am saying bring your speed to about 80 mph and shift to whichever gear maintains 3000-3500 rpm (i do not feel like checking which specific gear it is, i will leave this in your hands). at that point maintain wot for about 10-15 seconds. if the rpms increase without acceleration and/or you feel shuddering while at wot, your clutch is most likely shot.

please note my disclaimer in my previous post. i do not condone speeding or breaking any traffic laws. do this at your own risk.

and great job with the thread title lol...

lol. I also heard from a friend that a similar method to check the clutch is to put the car in first on a flat road and go wot. If the car moves any the clutch is ****. Is that basically the same method you are saying?

It seems like the problem is more intermitant really. Sometimes it feels ok. I'd say about 70% of the time it feels messed up though. I posted a thread in my regional section for local mechanics so I can have it looked at. If nobody has any other ideas I'm gunna go take it in and find out the true verdict.

OK well I am taking the car into a local tranny shop around here to see what the prob is. When I told the guy he was like well that could be 1000 things. Bearings, snychros, etc., I'll have to wait all day to hear if she has to have surgery. I'll keep you posted.

well found out the problem...bad slave cylinder. The way it was described to me is that the line that goes to the cylinder basically acts the same way as a break line. Pushing on the clutch sends the pressure thru the line along with the fluid. But since my cylinder was either cracked or broken there was no pressure being built up. Therefore, my car did nothing when the clutch was depressed. So practically I was trying to shift gears without using a clutch. Not really sure why the car was normal after being driven for a little while or why when the car was moving the gears felt fine. Total damage is around 520 bucks out the door. Wasn't covered under stealership warantee bc clutches and clutch parst are considered wear parts so they can't warantee them. Hopefully this helps some people out there if they have a stubborn tranny on their hands :-p
