Fuel pump intermittently not priming after 60K miles
I just hit 60K in my 03' Touring model and wouldn't you know it my fuel pump is acting up.
Last week I couldn't hear the pump priming... just click... pumped the gas.. tried again.. nothing.... took me 15 or so 'on-offs' turning the key listening before I cranked the engine... finally it primed and fired up.
No idling or stalling problems.
Yesterday it took 15 or so tries once.. then turned over fine.
This afternnoon took me 30 or so tries over 2-3 mins to get it to activate. When I crank it w/out the pump active it cranks nice and clean... I don't think it's plugs..
Always use 91 octane, not super aggressively driven.
Could my pump be near death? or could it be something else.. I always use Shell 91 (well since I acquired it with 28K on the Odo)
My battery meter shows 13 or so volts.. so I dont think it's the battery.. and it's only a year old.
Ideas?

assuming? No.
I can easily hear when turning the key if the pump activates or not. I don't consciously listen for it.. I just turn the key. But obviously when I turn the key and it just cranks I stop. I then actively listen for the pump to activate... and it doesn't. Maybe after 1-30 tries.. I finally do hear it activate.. then it will fire up like normal.
It's very intermittent.
