Default Different Window Motor Problem... please help

Hey guys... I searched this thread and found nothing. I am experiencing a problem with my drivers side window. When I close my door, it should just go up that half an inch or so until it is completely closed; however, the motor still runs, trying to push the window up even further. I took my door panel off twice, resetting the window motor each time. The problem still continues. It also does this when I use the auto up feature. I recently had the problem with the regulator shutting off. I fixed it by holding the up switch and closing my door forcefully. Somehow it gets the motor to work again. Has anyone experienced this problem with the motor trying to push the window up more than it should go? I am still using the first Nissan OEM motor and have had to take it apart a year ago to clean out all the carbon build up. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

wouldnt the window track only allow it to go so far?

thats a weird problem, and resetting the window motor would be the only thing I could think of to fix it

Yeah it is a weird problem... The window track only does let go so far, but once it reaches that point, you can hear the motor still turning trying to force the widow up even more. I tried resetting the the motor but it didnt work... maybe the only thing left to do is to get a replacement motor from Checkers Autoparts....?????

weird... i haven't ever run into this problem and i've replaced just about everything in my door (motors, tracks, windows, etc, etc...) i've only had to reset the window after replacing everything at once on my drivers side... the passenger side just relearned on its own.

I went with remanuf. motors from autozone, btw -- great deal

i imagine that you've tried to reset the entire car (neg terminal off for 20-30 minutes) and then done a window reset.... don't know if it will help, but it's kind of the catch-all, like with winblows XP... reboot and try the fix then

Thumbs down

I've read you can get a new motor installed at Auto Zone for $160; lifetime
warranty, too. Check it out. If I'm not wrong, PepBoys does it, also.

I got a replacement motor for my passenger side door about a year ago from Autozone and it does have a lifetime replacement warranty and after core swap was about $130, . I'd recommend it.

My window on my drivers side has a similar problem.
When I use Auto Up it rolls back down when it reaches the top. I checked and nothing seems to be blocking the track.
Any Ideas??
