Default Cruise control does not work!?

Hey guys, just the other day i am coming up to school here at penn state and i decide to throw on the Cruise control and it just did not want to work. The light turns on but it will not hold on a speed it just does not work. I had a new alpine HU installed last month by Tweeters in king of prussia and i was wondering if replacing the HU would have anything to do with the CC to stop working. Any help is greatly appreciated, and it is hard to take my car to the dealer in between rugby and class. Thanks guys.

It's always possible that something got disconnected when they were working on your install, but most of the time, when that happens, the car throws a CEL/SES light to indicate a problem.

There are a dozen things that can affect Cruise, from wiring, switches, etc. all the way to the vehicle speed sensor. The dealer will probably have to hood it up to the computer to know for sure.

Probably the only easy thing you can check is the clutch and brake switches. If those are broke or not adjusted properly, the car might think you have the clutch or brake depressed and that would normally kick you our of cruise. Same thing with transmission switches, if it thinks it's in neutral, then cruise disengages.

Correct, no cruise in the base. I was joking too... base != "real" Z. No cruise, no hid, no LSD...
