Does anybody else get this and know how to fix this? It's very intermittant, so I'm pretty damn sure that if I take it to the dealer they will not hear it. Besides, I hope there's an easy fix for it other than ripping it out and replacing it....

Ok, i have buzzing noise........but NOT from the rear view mirror, but from the passenger dash and the windshield. I know where my buzz is coming from, and I m fixing it my self. I got some padding from home depot for less than $2 and will be putting it on the gap between the windshield and the dash.
If you are VERY SURE your buzzing is not from the dash, try the plastic behind the mirror going up to the dome lights.
hope everything goes well. If you still cant be sure where the buzz is from, tell someone to sit in your car, and if that buzz appears, narrow it down! is better to have 4 ears than 2
good luck!

One thing I would check is the small plastic channel that covers the wires from the headliner to the mirror. I noticed when I ran my radar dectector wire through it that it was not real secure and lightly held in place. It comes out rather easily.
I don't suppose the mirror glass could have come loose within the housing?

I have this SAME EXACT Problem. Its the part of the dash that comes towards the passenger as well as the part that meetsthe windshield.
Please PM me what you did exactly. What padding, and how you fixed it and if it worked. It doesnt buzz all the time, but enough to be annoying. Whew, thought i was the only one with this issue.
Big thanks in advance..

I snapped a few pics of my attempt at quieting the noisy mirror
first one shows the mirror in 3 pieces.....i used a small screw driver to separated the 2 halves.....be careful the plastic is soft and will mark....the front half (the half with the buttons) snaps into the back half, there are many little tabs that can be pushed down as you separate the 2 halves
the second pic shows the front half and back side of the buttons....i spread the silicone on the bottom of each button.....spreading it into the recesses of the buttons and let it dry......
the third pic shows all the little plastic posts that support the mirror and card (there must be 25+ posts) ...i put a dab of silicone on each post and let it dry.........not too much, just a little dab...there are 2 posts that insert into the card.....too much silicone will make it harder to push back together (the q-tip in the pic is right over 1 of the posts)

I seem to remember this a while back. A temp fix was to squeeze the mirror in the middle (kinda like you were going to adjust it), but somehow doing that solved the prob at least for a little while. (temporarily anyway). Long term fix? Ya got me- I guess a new mirror or the suggestions above.

There is no service bulletin for this one. The bulletin mentioned above is for the wire harness cover... Different deal...
I like shooter's Solution.
I had used small pieces of felt between the plastic frame and solved the problem for the most part... The felt was a bit thicker than ideal but quieted it down..
I do like the silicone idea....
