Default Tranny *****...

I have an 03' 350Z, 66,666 miles...well I've always had transmission noises, but tonight when I parked my car (didn't turn it off, just parked) it started making a rumbling noise, not scratching or anything just rumbling. If I depressed my clutch it would stop, if I let off my clutch it would come back, any ideas? Flywheel? Maybe I'm just paranoid? Gremlins? A week ago I ran over something and I assumed it did not damage...did my assuming make an *** out of me? lol.

i think i have a similar noise, whenever i have it parked and in neutral. my friend suggested to me it might be that catalytic convertor.

I would agree that it's the cat's.

Mine used to make a slight grinding sound when it was parked and on, most noticable when it was parked next to a building. I had my cat's taken off as part of my turbo install and now - no noises.

I'm thinking the solution is go FI haha

normal clutch chatter or the throw out clutch bearing might be going out?

Mine has done this since about 35k. Pretty sure it is the throw out bearing. Not a problem, just annoying.

Another vote for throw out bearing - sounds terrible. Mine has it too.

everyone has this problem when their car hit 66,666 miles. it's a built in feature from Nissan
