Did you forget to add something in your title? Please elaborate on what "12v" you are speaking of...

You can use a tool that usually comes with the packaging that fuses are in, tweezers, or needlenose pliers.

Isn't there a fuse removal tool inside the fuse box??? Thats what I used... If you would have just checked you would have saved lots a time. It's much easier than you're making it

The thread is a bit old but...

I went through about 3 of the 15 amp cig lighter fuses last weekend. If I plugged or unplugged my cell phone charger into the lighter when it was powered up, the fuse would blow. Not sure if this is a problem with my charger adapter, or the lighter socket. Anyone have any ideas?

For now, I'm just trying to remember to not do it, and I've got a box of spare 15amp fuses in the car now as well.

Probably your charger. But I would just not use it in the car if it kept doing that... Can you check to see if anything else that plugs into the outlet blows the fuse also?
