Default Self Oil Changes & Warranty

I prefer to do my own oil changes and always have. However, I've never owned a new car until the Z so I haven't had to worry about things like warranties. My question is will doing this sort of thing give Nissan any recourse in the future should something go wrong? Is it a matter of keeping the receipts of oil/filter purchases or are you just SOL?

Thanks,

HokieZ

I just changed my oil today. All I saved was my receipts and wrote down the date and mileage. I have read other threads that said that was good enough.
