sorry for my ignorance about cars but... i was just wandering what i needed to change the oil in my car.... i have a little over 8.000 miles on my baby.... and i've had the oil changed at the dealer but... i just don't trust them.... so i was just wondering if n e one could give me a break down of what i needed i.e. oil brand... how much quantity of oil i needed... filter.... all the good stuff... and explain to me step by step how to do so... thank you for your time...

Oil type/brand up to you- just needs to be API grade SG/SH, SJ or SL. 5W-30 for all temperature ranges.
