d/s door doesnt open w/remote

d/s door doesnt open w/remote
the driver side door does not open w/the remote, and the driver side door has to be opened from the passenger door.
is it something with the fuse?
or an electrical power issue with in the door?
the remote DOES open passenger door and trunk.
if more information is needed please ask!
its a 2003, the car is not mine, it is my stepdad's.
im just doing the research for him
