Default Need help urgently..weird spark plug issue..

Hi everyone,
i need your help cause i am starting to wonder what is happening..

Here is the story..
One day as i was driving the Z a check engine appeared..sometimes steady and sometimes continously on and off for some secs... we used the tester to read to see what was the problem..so it was the common misfire problem in cylider 5. So, we took out the spark plug to inspect it..and what we saw was kind of strange..the bridging gap was zero...there was no gap between the ground electrode and the center electrode..very strange...so i thought the plug was faulty...i have been using NGK Greddy iridium spark plugs (7) 1 step colder. I changed them and again i had the same issue on the same cylinder. I don't know if it is connected but from the day the plug was damaged my lifters were a bit more louder than the standard..i used motor kote and the lifters noise was reduced working alright..my engineer told me that the lifters are totally related with the combustion area..and if the lifters are not working properly they don't make proper combustion with the result of bending the ground electrode...By the way when we installed the new plugs tha car worked like new...until again the plug was damaged...
I think it could be the lifters not working properly..what do you think???

In any case we checked:

1)compression - ok
2)piston from inside - ok (no signs of contact with the groun electrode)
3)coil - ok
4)oil pressure - ok
5)engine temperature - ok

Any advices would be really appreciated...

Pre-ignition? Have you opened the motor to see how #5 actually looks like? Misfires as a result of pre-ignition can be caused by glowing hot carbon deposits in your combustion chamber. The A/F mixture ignites before spark is delivered. Just a thought....Good Luck!

we used a visual machine that you can see the piston when taking out the spark plug and the piston was clear..there were no scratches or anything strange inside the chamber...i can't see anything strange. i also checked from the net the causes of plug damage but i can't find anything similar besides the gap bridging, cause i changed all the plugs and the problem remaind on the same cylinder. What kind of deposits are those that can appear inside the chamber?????Is there any chance that the piston might have hit the spark plug for some reason?????my car has haltech ecu, plenum spacer, jwt pop charger, tomei camshafts 272 degrees, dc manifold and exhaust...thanks for the replies...i have ben running from yesterday the car with no problems yet...waiting for something to happen. .
