Transmission won't shift into any gear when cold
I know there were a couple of threads talking about this but none of them really answered why this happens or really how to fix it. When its cold outside around 32 deg F the transmission will not shift into any gear and by will not shift I mean I can put all my weight into the shifter and it will not go into gear. Does anyone know why this happens on a 2007 Base. If so does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix the problem besides just warming the car up. I have had manual RSX and Eclipse and never had this problem obviously these are different setups but I just wondering why its so bad on the 350. Thanks for your help.
My '04 Base is having problems shifting into 1st and 2nd :0(
Everyday since it started getting cold out its been getting worse and worse...
I'm thinking I need a new transmission soon *sigh*
Anybody have other suggestions??

Yeah once the car gets warmed all is good and it shifts perfectly so Im confused as what the problem could be. I mean its not like its just hard to get it into gear, it will not go into gear at all.
That fcking sucks..I'm glad in live in SE Texas now. I hope it doesn't start happening to me and I hope you get the problem solved. Have you taken it to the stealership to ask them about it ?

Ok so something new just happened I left it in gear overnight and now when I start it up with the clutch pushed in it runs for a second, leaving the clutch pushed in then stalls out. Also while doing this I am unable to take it out of first gear. Any suggestions on what the problem is?

Looks like the OPs problem is more serious than that. In addition if you let the car warm up for 5 mins, all you are warming up is the engine, not the transmission. You need to drive it in gear for 5 mins which sound like he can't even do...
Hey guys, curious on your thoughts because I'm having a similar problem.
Since it got cold I've been having this problem. 2nd and 3rd gear, when they are cold (even after a 5-10min warm up) they upshift relatively normal but would have to have serious force to downshift to. 3rd isn't nearly as bad but 2nd would need to be pulled on. I have an 8 mile drive to work (5 highway)... by about the end of the highway travel, the trans shifts up and down like butter!? I try my hardest to not downshift to either of these gears when they're cold because I know it is definitely not good for it but I'm really trying to figure out what's going on?!
I also changed the trans fluid/rear diff fluid to Redline Synthetic a few months ago.
Thoughts? Thanks in advance guys...
(I posted this in another trans thread but I continued to search and bumped this thread as well. I believe this OP has more similar problems than the other thread)

So the problem with my transmission was actually the clutch master cylinder. I think I heard there was a recall for it but Im not sure. All I know is that they replaced it for free and now everything is fine. Except a little problem with shifting into 1st at idle, around 1k. If I tap the accelerator a little with the clutch pushed in, it goes in perfect if not I have to force it a little. Don't really know what the issue is any ideas?
