Braille Battery...
Hey guys. Well I stored the Z in garage after an accident...trying to get things situated in resolving that...while this madness was taking place...I forgot to disconnect the negative battery terminal. I would drive the z like twice a week just to get her moving...unfortunately this was not enough...eventually my lightweight braille racing battery bit the dust...hear clicking now when I start the Z...now is there a way to revive the battery or should I just get a whole new one. Any help or experiences with braille relating to this is appreciated. Thanks.
it really depends on how much the battery is drained. if the engine doesn't even turn over at all then i suggest u get a new battery. i don't think those small batteries are very reliable with being discharged completely.
Well, battery fluid is midway...I tried jump starting for a bit and it comes on strong...but once I shut off the engine and try to crank again without jumper cables, it doesnt start...starter just clicks intermittently with no ignition. Really don't want to spend on a whole new battery if not necessary. Anyone have any experiences with the braille batteries?
You don't want to let these batteries discharge or sit around for very long or they're pretty much paper weights.... I left my mine unattended for almost a week and it's been weak ever since. Now that it's getting colder and harder to turn the engine over it's almost not cutting it. I will probably replace it very soon with a normal battery until spring.
I see...got to get another battery...I'm thinking of putting an optima but for almost the same price, might just get another braille...just got to remember to disconnect the negative terminal whenever I let the z sit for too long.
Get a new battery and and battery tender if you can. That way you won't have to occasionally drive the car to keep the battery fresh nor will you have to disconnect the terminals. I have had my car in the garage since early 2007 with a ctek 800 battery tender on an optima yellow top and every time I need to start the car, it fires right up without hesitation and there is no "battery" warning light on the dash.
