Anywho,

So I'm driving my car, coming to a stop light, I'm in 4th gear I slow down to about 25 mph, then the light turns green so I accelerate still in 4th, I push the pedal to the floor, I'm accelerating, then suddenly I get a random hiccup, like the car shakes, and then starts going.

So then, my theories thus far,

Either a.) My UTEC since it was technically tuned for another Z, has a random hiccup and its like a fuel dump or something

or

b.) My trans is going to explode killing everyone in a 5 mile radius!

LOL :P ,, the hiccup is because ur in 4th gear and ur drivin 25mph ,, the shakes is as if the car would stop ,, try it again in 2nd or 3rd the hiccup wont happen

It happens in every gear that was just my best explanation, basically if my RPMS are low and I'm accelerating in a gear not appropriate for the speed I get a big *** hiccup

That is typical of any manual. Start out at a stop in 6th gear and tell us what happens.

The RPMS are not matched to engine speed. Why not blip the throttle and get in the right gear?

+1 to everything above. I don't even drive a stick and I know that you shouldn't be in 4th gear going 25.

Probably b/c you're not going the appropriate speed.

Well it was more of a curiousity thing as too why, I though maybe because if you look at the fuel map of my UTEC is has a blip in it, I was curious if that was the dump, but I'll take everyones word for it and not worry. I know I wasn't in the right gear, I just happened to notice it, it happens in third also, basically if your in a higher gear and driving it does it.

I tend to keep RPM's low when cruising around the island its like a average speed limit of 35mph..
That being said i never let the engine bog down and never accelerate at WOT in the wrong gear I have yet to have the issues the OP has had but i am averaging 25mpg.
I keep my RPM's from 1700- 2100 when cruising usually just throw it in neutral when im stopping and rev match to get it back into gear when rolling.

hit a patch of ice and scare the car...maybe the hiccups will go away.
