Default High Idle after new Battery installed

Hi Guys, I've searched the forum for over 2 hours and havent found anything useful for my problem.

I've been overseas for 5 weeks, and the Z has not been started and is parked during this time, I came back, and tried to start the Z, it splutters and coughs, and starts after trying 5-6 times. The battery is about 5 years old, so I figure I'd get a new battery, got one installed and tested, all is good. Except, now it feels like a different car! After starting the car, rev jumps to 2K rpm, slowly goes to 1500rpm, then after longer periods of driving, the idle will still sit at 1000rpm. It used to sit around 750rpm.
The revs also seem to sit between shifts, It will drop much slower than before during shifts. Seems like overall rev is higher.
I have reset the ecu by unplugging battery overnight, still didnt help this high idle rev.

Does anyone have similar problem? or experienced anything like I have described? Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Richiz

I see no relation between a battery and idle speed.

Drive it , drive it for 70 miles till the ECU is fully reset from swapping your battery/disconecting the battery overnight(they both did the same thing)

There is an idle throttle position reset that you can try too. Similar to the pedal reset for the ECU. Might have the link in my car but is pouring rain right now so I'll look for it if you need it. Believe it is on the wiki at Tech too, can't find anything on this site.

+1.

PM member=Hazdyne(sp?) He might be able to furnish you with a copy of the reset procedure. I have a hard copy at home, but nothing on file.
