Default Lowering Driver Seat?

I am 6'2". I could really use another 1 or 2 inches headroom to achieve the perfect driving position (leg slightly bent with clutch all the way in, wrist on top of wheel with shoulders back in seat). What are some options for getting a couple more inches of headroom, ie different seats, different seat brackets?

Damn dude I'm 6'4" and 200 lbs. and have no problem with headroom or driving position. Is 5' of that 6'2" torso?

I too have been thinking about this. Sitting in the seat properly i can barely fit with a helmet on. A good 2 inches is about what i need. More if at all possible. I havent had a chance to pull the seat off and see if there's anything i can do to the rails. Anyone have any ideas?

I've heard of snow days, but today we've got an Izzy day.....

Seriously, does anyone know if anyone has designed shorter seat rails for the Z? Looks like it is very possible.

With a helmet, I have to slide my seat forward a couple of inches and tilt the seat back, otherwise my head is in the roof.

Strangely enough, you have more headroom if your legs are shorter due to the tapering off of the roof the farther back the seat goes.

I know what you are sayin mannishboy. I would like to keep the stock fabric seat, but just lower it an inch or two. Seems to me that lower seat rails could be designed for this purpose, if they have not already.

I would also be interested in lower seat rails.

I like the stock leather heated seats (with side air bags), but I want a little more room.

If you take a look under the seat you will see that there is plenty of room to bring the seat rails down about 2 inches, if not more. Surely somebody out there has manufactured something.

Thumbs up 6' 2" and I barely fit too...

I'd be interested in some sort of kit too! I'm 6'2" and I barely fit. When I was looking at sports cars my head hit the roof, or my direct line of sight was 2" above the transition of the glass to the roof. I think my upper torso is on the "long" side but not ridiculously long. 1" would be great. It seems like most auto manufacturers solution to the tall driver is to force them to recline the seat to a nearly horizontal position. Your chin then hits your chest looking forward. It's not just sports cars that have this issue. I looked at a lot of SUV's and I had the same problem with them.

If you hear of anything let me know.

I am going to post this question on other boards. Surely someone out there has some info on this. Ideally I would like to find an aftermarket company that has lowered the OEM seats.

I guess I have longer legs than you guys... I'm 6'6" and can still drive comfortably. However, lowering the seat would be nice if it is fairly easy.

Did you or anyone followup on this topic? I could benefit greatly if I could get the seat down 2"s. I wouldn't hit the side of the steering wheel braking if the seat were lower.

Default keep this thread alive!

I'm 6'4" and could use about an inch. Is there a way to keep the stock seats but lower them? By the way I have an '06 enthusiast.

i've been looking into this issue for awhile, but have yet to do anything about it because I don't think its worth the money.

but the solution is simple and easy.

install super lower seat rails.

you can get them here: http://www.mynismo.com/categories/?id=4376
