Default SEATBELT Installation Help

I'm in the process of replacing and installing my seatbelts. I'm stuck at the part where the sensor is plugged, don't know how to remove it? Now when I install the newer seatbelts can I plug in the sensor without installing the new airbags and control module(brain)? or will I be ok with installing just the seatbelts for now.
I remember a member(raycs7) I think on here PMing me and said to disconnect the battery for at least 10 minutes and install the new airbags, control module, and have the seatbelts locked in and then reconnect the battery and start the car... I figured I'd get a headstart and do the seatbelts first, since I don't have the tool to remove the airbags at the moment.....
any input will be appreciated thanks.....
