Default Vibration/shaking at high speeds!

I have a 2004 roadster. I went to get an alignment and balancing yesterday. After they were done the car felt pretty smooth at low speeds and the steering wheel is now straight. But when I'm driving faster than 65 mph the steering wheel shakes and the back of the car shakes a little and the whole car just vibrates more than before and just doesn't feel the same.
What should I tell the shop when I take it back. Did they F*** the alignment or balancing up? And could this be caused by the tires splitting on the inside. Please help!

Did they give you a sheet showing you all they did to your car? What they adjusted and what the final specs were?
It should show the camber, toe, etc.

I'm curious also as to what the final specs were.

Also, your tires may be worn unevenly from bad toe/camber and may not be sitting right on the pavement after the alignment. You may find that after a couple of hundred miles the shaking eases up.

However priority number one would be making sure that the wheels have been properly balanced and aligned to the correct specifications for your car.

I had that exact same problem.
I got hub centric rings for my car; they were about $20.00 @ discount tire.
That solved my problem.
Try it.

Thank you, how can I tell that I would need hub centric rings. Also, I took the car back and had him make sure the wheels were balanced. But he said the tires, especially the rear ones were f***ed up or "out of rim" as he put it. They have flat spots and dry rotting like crazy. So I'm thinking that might be my problem.

They gave me a form, here's all it says:

1.00 ALN NIAL 1 Nissan Alignment
4.00 LBR LTB Lifetime wheel balance

OEM Lug Nut Torque Ft/LBs- 72-87

Then just how much I paid thats all.

Did I get screwed.

PS- the car seems to have calmed down a bit after the second time I took it to them. I'm gonna get new tires next week and hopefully that's the end of it.

Thanks for your replies. I'd love to hear any other suggestions.

It sounds like the tires were the culprit. Them being on there for so long at an *** alignment setting just screwed them up. When you had them fixed you were riding on the tires differently and it made the car shake.

Definitely get new tires if they are dryrotting. That's some dangerous stuff, man.

It's definitely time for new tires, or you can try to burn off the parts of the tire that are out of round if you'd like to avoid getting new tires, but I wouldn't reccommend it.
