Well folks I am stumped.
About a year ago when I was at the track, my throttle stopped responding on the front straight, I pulled on to the grass and waited for a tow to the pits.
At first I thought the throttle body had taken a pooch. So I bought a new one. No Go. The car still didn't rev.
Then by chance I tried starting the car with my spare key.
The car started and rev'd up fine. Like nothing ever happened.
Ok, So I used that key up until Monday night.
At the track again, this time I pulled into the pits after a session and shut the car down after letting it cool.
When my run group was called again I went to start the car and it had trouble starting. After some tinkering, the car would run but the throttle wouldn't respond. I had the car towed.
So I am now out of keys, and I am not about to pay $200 for a new key every time this happens. Does any one know of a way to disable the sentry key system/nats system? Or any ideas how I can by-pass this? Or am I completely wrong in thinking this is the sentry/nats system causing my grief. Am I missing something obvious?
Any help at all is appreciated.
Thank You

Have you checked your data logs?
I see that you have Haltech, this would be a good time to check data logs for errors.....
Maybe a faulty connection not sending throttle position to Throttle Body or something?
I dunno, I think a data log check would be a good place to start.
Really don't know what could be the problem.
(subbing to see how it gets worked out, a rather interesting/strange problem)
so ill say this post was more of a bump than actual help... heh

Forgot to mention that I do indeed see the voltage for the throttle rise and fall through the haltech when I play with the pedal. But the throttle body certainly doesn't react.

I've confirmed it is the NATS system causing the problem.
I have found a Company down in Florida that can totally remove the NATS system from the ECU to solve my problem. They usually do this to allow the VQ to be swapped into other chassis without having to go with a stand alone. But in this case it will work the same for me.
I'll let you know how it works when I get my ECU back.

bumping this old thread... I'm having a similar problem.
car starts and idles at around 1000rpm
no throttle response
error codes show bad throttle pedal sensor... tried a new one... same problem..
tried a new throttle body... same problem...
Did anyone ever figure this out? I'm thinking ECU may need to be replaced

Also try to do a reset.

What codes are you getting?
I had something similar to this happen. I turned out it was my UTEC, and I believe it was a loose/bad wire connection that was causing it. Check all your wire connections running to your ECU/EMS and see if anything happens

I am currently facing the same issue. For me the car key is not the original one and has no code or nats.
I would like to know if removing the NATS system from the ECU has solved your problem ? If not how did you solve it?
Thanks!
My throttle quit working. I replaced throttle body and accelerator peddle sensor and can't get it to respond. Did all reset & learning steps repeatedly but cannot get it to work. Really need my car so I can trade my SUV for a Harley
Can I get some help here I've done all the steps & procedures 90 times new throttle body and accelerator peddle sensor
