Default Really disappointed with my 2007 HR with 22K Miles

Hey guys, Im really getting tired of my Z a 370 is not an option YET... I need your input on this....and what to do????

4/15/08 ...Got the car with 8K miles
9/20/08 ...bend valve ...result new engine
12/11/08... slave recall
2/4/09 ....Coil pack plug came out.....bad install on new engine back on 9/20
8/13/09... loud clicking sound coming from engine on cold starts

I change my oil every 2500 miles just to avoid any future problems...now this $hit

*one guy says its my oil...my oil freaking clear, brand new!
*another guy says its my new engine??
*another guy says its my belt????!!?

Is this normal ?? I mean the car is an 07, getting old but come on! lol...not even my old 15year truck does this. Now im trying to prepare myself for the dealer BS, I hope this time they dont blame my exhaust. What do you guys think>?

Assume that you bought the car used so lemon law does not apply.

What is applicable is the warranty. Work with your dealer. They should take care of you.

I hear ya on that. I have an 07 with 35k now. I got another year on my lease and obviously the warranty is just about up so im dreading the future. I had my crank position sensor go randomly. Also had the clutch on the AC go randomly about 1k miles ago. My left window goes all the way up then comes back down everytime when I hit the auto roll up. If it werent for the warranty I woulda paid a lot to fix that stuff, so now I'm just praying nothing else goes wrong..Rear brakes need to be replaced as well but luckily a friend will help since its easy to do.

Mine is now over 2 years old with 18,600 miles, with not a single problem. Never been to the dealer. Now how did a valve get bent?

Something about the timing and a hard acceleration...meaning I caused it! which is BS ..Ive work very hard to get my Z and thats the last thing I want ...blow my engine... Ive been to the track 3 times with my Z.....1 time...clutch got stuck..I panic, did not know anything about the recall....2nd time I didnt even enjoy it ....3rd...the coil plug came loose which is not that bad but I lost the reliability I had for my car. Sinces then ...hell with the track... The worse mistake Ive done in my life is buying my car used and then realized I could of paid the same for a new on a different dealer

wow, lemon law...didnt even know about that! THANKS

Used Vehicles

Your used vehicle may be covered under the Lemon Law. The Law may cover your vehicle if your used vehicle is still covered by the manufacturer's original warranty (not an extended service contract), or if the problem started while under warranty and it continues to exist, repair assistance of the warranty-related problem may be available to you.

That's strange as I beat the hell out of mine all the time and at the track (road course not 1/4). My car lives at redline at the track almost the whole time. I was always afraid of the 1/4 track with my clutch but I did get the recall done immediately and never experienced the clutch problem when I went to the 1/4 a few times. I heard if you replace the line with a SS line and put better fluid in there for the clutch it helps a lot. Now the valve problem, that was just a issue probably from the beginning that isn't your fault. That's just strange.

That sucks man. Well don't give up! Cars can be fixed. Some have more issues than others. It just happens.

How did you bend a valve n/a? Is that common?

Anyways good luck man, if its loud ticking it could be normal valve train noise from low oil, or in my case bad bearings resulting in new engine.....Or maybe a bad tensioner pulley which has happened to me too.

Probably a miss-shift; over-revving. Quite beating your car and it will last you.

^^Doubt that^^ My car has 62,000 hard driven miles and on boost and my engine is running strong w no issues. How much longer, who knows but my point is some cars just have issues and some don't. It doesn't matter how you drive it. Hell, we all bought a sports car that is meant to be driven. Some will drive them harder than others some don't even know what it is like going above 5000 rpm but spirited runs are what makes this car shine. Sorry to hear about your car issues Sam. Hope things workout for you man. BTW, I know you don't beat on your car like most of us. Keep us updated.

Cool. Did not realise that Lemon Law may be applicable to vehicles purchased used.

Problem with Lemon Law is that you need a Lemon Law Attorney. Attorneys are not cheap.
