Default Shifting Question/Problem

I recently got an 07 Z and its my first manual . I had driven a few manual cars for practice but have very little experience with them. I'm getting used to it but have a quick question. When I shift into 2nd and 3rd, the car always bucks for a second or two when I release the clutch. I have to give it a good bit of gas as I let the clutch out to prevent it. Is this normal or is this how I am supposed to drive it(I was taught that you release the clutch slowly through the engagement point and that you dont need to give it gas as you release it)? When shifting into 4th, 5th, and 6th the shifts are always real smooth and I don't have to give it any gas as I release the clutch. I don't dump the clutch and have tried releasing it real slow and at different RPMs but it always and only bucks going into 2nd and 3rd. Is this definitely driver error or should I have it looked at? I had a friend that's owned quite a few manuals drive it and it did the same thing to him. He said that it wasn't normal but had no clue what it could be.
Oh and the slave recall has already been done by the previous owner. He also said something about having the clutch tensioner(? I'm not very mechanically knowledgeable) replaced under warranty. The car only has 25xxx miles. Thanks for any advice you guys can give me

I have 08 350Z, that was the same problem for me at first 2 weeks but try shifting at 3.5k rpm at 1st 2nd 3gear it will shift smoothly without u having to relese the clutch slowly. and try to shift quickly it seems ur shifting little slow.

Try shifting bit faster that might help with smoother shifting.

at least for me the fast shifting, and 3.5k rpm rule helps with smooth silky shifting.

You have to close your eyes and think about what is happening when you shift:

a. Engine RPM increases 4,000 5,000 6,000 RPM

b. Disengage the clutch. Let off the gas. Engine RPM decreases to 3,000 RPM

c. Release clutch. Drive train is moving. Clutch grabs flywheel that is spinning at 3,000 RPM. It was spinning at 6,000. Transmission and drivetrain bucks.

5th to 6th gear is good. 2nd to 3rd gear bucks. With each upshift you need less torque to maintain the same speed. You are having a problem in the lower gears with the greatest torque.

You can engage the clutch AND give the car some gas at the same time. Practice makes perfect. 10,000 miles from now and you will be shifting like a pro.
