Default rough idle after changing out the battery

heres the low down....

after my battery crapped out on me i changed it....now it cranks up smooth and great!!!

But.....

as soon as the engine starts and the rpms come bak down to idle it doesnt stop at idle...they drop almost to where the car dies..like to where all the dash lights come on...then the rpms shoot back up to ide (bout 500 -750 rpms)....

like i said...its only happens after the initial start up....once the revs come bak up ..the car idles fine....and drives fine

to me it seems the ecu was reset..which is normal but why the rough idle now????....do i have to adjust the idle???...if so how????....the car idled fine before....

any help would be praised.....

Very common. Leave the car alone for several days. If idle does not fix itself reset ECU.

The dead battery essentially reset it for you already.
