Default Window motor disgust

I just want to report my disgust. My 3rd window motor has gone out. I am glad i have gotten good at replacing them.

I think its time to start using the cheap motors from autozone, at least those have a lifetime warranty. Anyone else have any luck with them (good or bad)? The nissan units seem to be complete CRAP.

Yea I'm in the same position as you. I'm glad I'm good with them too by now. The issue is that those places offer a lifetime warranty on refurbished units from Nissan...so guess what lol. I've replaced the ones from them as well. But I'll let you know that if you take the motor out of that metal case and scuff up the connectors with fine sand paper they last a lot longer. The ones I have now have been good for about a year. But even after the reset, my motors have lost the AT up down feature and minor things like that. But as long as they work I won't complain I guess. I can't believe how crappy they are and how common this is.

One of the "minor nuisances" in our beaZts. And, yes, your best bet is AutoZone, $160.00 plus installation (about $20-30 bucks). No problemo!

Sup Jay, I did the autozone....well we dont have an autozone in Honolulu, its called checkers....no not the burger joint, its a parts store. Got tired of banging on the passenger door. Most guys said they just cleaned it but it started acting up after a month or so.. F'k that. I just bought one at for about 155 with mil discount and minus 30 for core charge plus it had a warranty. Worked great so far....No banging. If there is a problem, I'd just take it back get another one.

Wudup Silk, thanks for the info.. I pulled the door panel twice to reset it, I also opened the casing on the motor (it looked good).. I just hated putting that **** back together major PITA.. The window auto open thing when u pull the door handle doesnt work though. It doesnt fall down when I close the door right now though.. But Im gonna have to pay for the motor swap.. This is annoying....

Ill be going to autozone for a new motor/lifetime warranty/military discount..

Dawg...thats the best deal. I just didn't want to go through the cleaning just to have it fail again in a month or so. But this way, you get the warranty. Hey, I did the reset...no issue! I don't know about pulling the door handle...but I did this and followed it to the T...everything work as it should. Now If I can get this dam Airbag light to stop flashing after installing seats then I'll be good. yeah, tried everything but taking to dealer.

Bro...the window doesn't come down when you pull on the door handle? Dont understand. You mean when you close the door the window dosen't slightly go down? I dont get why you pulling on the door handle. Yes, when you let go of the window switch the window rolls back down. Thats what mine did, meaning it needs to be reset. I sat in the passenger side of the car and did the procedure, it worked. My windows never went down when I pulled on the door handle.

...it's starting to turn from a "minor nuisance" into an automotive abomination, huh?!
