Spun out into a wall car was fixed, and now 3rd gear grinds everytime.
Long story short but heres some pics.
A spun out in the rain and hit a wall, here is the result


after 2 weeks and $4800 later this is the car now


the problem now is,
3rd gear constantly grinds, i dont remember if after the crash i shifted into 3rd at all (i think i did and it didnt grind)
however, even if the car is sitting in nuetral, i pop the clutch and shift into 3rd sitting at a stand still and the car will still grind.
this is the only gear that grinds, keep in mind i used to redline from 2nd into 3rd with no prob
any input? is it possible the impact knocked my synchros out of whack or something? i was prob in 4th or 5th gear when i hit the wall..

It sounds like you may have the dreaded synchro failure. Is that an '03 Z? Your probably going to have to replace the transmission. My '03's synchros went out after about 50k miles, although it wasn't from hitting anything. I would guess the impact had something to do with the synchro going out. You can probably find a used CD009 transmission for around 500 bucks.
