Arbitration with the BBB worked for me!!
#21
I have talked to a Nissan rep about a buy-back but he never really answered my questions about it. I am calling BBB Monday, and sending my Atty General and Nissan a letter about my dissatisfaction with this car. I got a survey in the mail yesterday that I am also going to fill out and send in. Hopefully something will get done cause I have a car that is totally unsafe, and I can't sale it because of that.

Here is my opinion.
Are you really speaking to someone from Arbitration at NAA. It is a totally different department than the consumer affairs specialist that set up your case. In my case, my consumer affairs specialist kept referring to the arbitration department making a decision, but nothing ever happened UNTIL I filed a case with the BBB. Than all of sudden an Arbitration Specialist was calling me (or actually my lawyer).
You see, NAA can't ignore the BBB because the BBB is manufacture sponsored program set up to help resolve issues. A lot of states actually require the use of the BBB before a lemon lawsuit can be heard in court. If they ignore a case the BBB will impose heavy sanctions.
I know once I filed a case with the BBB, the consumer affairs specialist couldn't help me anymore. Does that mean that they will cancel your meeting with the specialist I really don't know.
I think whether or not you really want your Z is the determining factor whether to decide to try again and fix it or simply just getting out of the Z. Once the car was in the 4th time (I had already known the requirements of lemon law) I began thinking of getting rid of my Z.
At that point, I didn't want the car any longer. I was sick of NAA and I didn't buy a 40,000 car to be in the shop. Now keep in mind I had my car in for other things a well. I had in in a total of 14 days with 6 months of purchase.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the response,
Yes this has been at the arbitration level at NNA (not consumer affairs) for the last month or so. I just called the rep at the BBB this morning and cancelled my meet with the Nissan rep. I will be just waisting my time going to meet the Nissan rep to hear 2 things: nothing is wrong with the car, and it's normal. There is no fix for the pull ! So I know nothing will come out of the meet. They already had their last attempt to fix the car about a month ago and they did not fix my problem. THe BBB rep said it was totally fine to cancel my meeting since I was the one the requested it. But like I said, the more I thought about it, I knew I would be wasting MY time and just adding more miles to my Z. BTW, in this state, they will take into account the mileage of my (when buying back the car) car all the way until the arbitration!!!! that really sucks. So I am waiting to get a date for my arbitration. We'll see how it goes.
I hope nobody has to have this happen to them and their Z, so good luck to everyone. I don't feel Nissan makes bad cars, I just got a Lemon.
Thanks dthoman.

I just found out thru a BBB source that the Z has been bought back more than any other car since introduced. Nissan should be paying more attention to quality than sales. Truly a sad day.
