I'm recently experiencing this problem. I have a 04 Z at 62k miles. A key problem aye? I'll use my other spare and see how that goes. If that don't work, I'll reprogram it and post on this thread to confirm it. Thanks for everybody inputs =]

After my last post, it happened about 2 more times and on the third time, stopped by the liquor store and car wouldn't start when I got back in. Did a push start home and bought a duralast yellow top battery which fixed the issue. I didn't think it was the battery because all my lamps and electronics were perfectly fine but it was definitely the battery in my case.

hey guys i posted a number of threads about my problem with this. some of you will notice that at times when you start your car the small red dot on the top left of your dash will glow solid red and gleam onto your windshield. Maybe it starts one day maybe it wont the next? Solution: get new keys and reprogram those like I did or just reprogram your keys. Aparently the chip in the key gets busted from being in water, by too many cells phones, sitting in the sun, etc. New keys should fix it

I have never had my 04z 40k not start, once in a while it will do a slow "turn over" to get running like what happens when you have a dying battery but my battery seems to be fine with amps and volts with in normal limits...Any ideas or is this a precursor to this "key" program problem?

hey guys....you were right!!! I read this thread yesterday. I was having the same problem after I let the gas tank run REALLY low and parked on a severe angle. Car didn't start...then after walking to get gas...the car started giving me a SERVICE light. I went to the dealership the checked it for 110.00 and said it was the NAV key flash code....something about possibly having a magnet in my pocket and near the key. The service dude said it takes 30 starts to reset the light. I should have waited but it's good to know it not a major problem.

It happened again...but my car had no problems starting. I got a "Service Soon" light after a sharp turn and really low gas. After filling the tank up and about 20 starts the light went away. So the dealership was right...don't say that much. (See my post on the 16 of June)

This has happened to me 4 times since I got the Z about 2 months ago. I am going to try to use the 2nd key and see what happens.
*it happened again today. Tried all 3 of my keys with same problem. Took keys to dealer to get programmed --- hopefully this will fix it once and for all. I probably need a battery (orig on 55k miles) so that will be my next try since it seems like a low voltage batter can effect the ignition security ring thingymabob.
