Window Motor repair, they can be fixed!
#62
I'm not sure what others used but I rebuilt mine with Trinity 4500NT (NT = no terminal but 4500 is fine, just cut off the terminal). I don't know how the 4500 wear rate will compare to the stock brush. As a side note, I only had lay down brushes and they can be made to work but it took a little sanding/fiddling.
Only thing I would add to the instructions is the suggestion to make alignment marks on the armature shaft and motor housing so you can slide it back in exactly as it came out. With one motor I had no trouble, but the other I fiddled with it forever trying to get it back in, many beers later I rotated it just right and it dropped right in.

yeah, a low-pitched squeaky. almost sounds like it's groaning as it goes up and down.
i have to remove the panel this weekend to reset the motor (somehow lost its reset last time when i replaced the brushes), so i figured if there's a way to quiet it down i'll do so.
although i'm not going to sit and wait for a reply; imma go search.
ETA: after reading a few threads that came back from search, I don't think i'm having the same issue. It's basically the same sound of the window going up and down, just louder is all.

I did notice the louder motor noise after fix.
But the thing is, now I have this ticking noise when window is fully closed and when it's almost closed.
Maybe I've tightened those rail to door panel nuts too tight??
anyone experiencing this ticking / rattling noise ?

i have on ticking or rattling or odd noises. It did get a little big louder but only over the old dead brushes when the motor wasn't turning very fast. It's faster now and slightly louder than before but it's the same volume that my "good oem" passenger side is.

oh ya, the ticking or poping is usualy the window regulator. I think they are about 50-75$ through nissan/infiniti. The regulator is all the cables and pulleys. I had to replace mine before my motor went out cause it was popping and studdering when it was going up.

Can you elaborate on this some more. How do you reset using the black button? My window works sometimes, I have to push it down to make it work. Not sure if this will work for me or not, but I'm willing to try it.

If you had to physically move your window to get it to go down then it has nohting to do with the window reset. Window reset just resets the motor to know what is the fully up and fully down position of the window. It will not fix any problems. It's needed after installing a new motor or fixing an old motor and reinstalling it.

Anyone have a link on where they ordered the brushes? The closest RC hobby shop is around 45-50 miles so I'd burn way more in gas than just ordering them off the web.
Tried googling and all I get are some forum posts on hobby sites a couple years old, of course I've really no clue exactly what I'm looking for other than "540 upright brushes" lol.
Thanks!
*EDIT*
Never mind, I'd forgotten about Ebay! "If" they are the correct ones I just got 5 sets for 7.57 shipped.
