Creaking sound from rear area
Anyone experience creaking sounds when angling in or out of driveways? I've been noticing this for a little while now, it's not real loud but noticeable.
Also, I've been hearing some clunking/rattling when driving on some, but not all, bumpy roads. It's hard to replicate the exact conditions though, but it does seem to happen fairly routinely. Not sure if maybe the two are related or separate.
Thanks in advance for any input.

Ok, well I am almost positive that the clunking/rattling is coming from outside of the car because it's much more audible with the windows rolled down. It's not like a dash rattle or plastic on plastic; my g/f had a G35 Coupe so I know about rattles but the creaking sounds almost like it's coming from maybe the rear strut tower.
The fact that the creaking is only apparent when the chassis is flexing (angling in and our of a drive way) is why I didn't just brush it off as a run of the mill rattle. This also sounds like something more solid than plastic or some interior pieces rubbing against each other.

It's a common issue for the differential bushing to tear. I'm not saying it may be in your case but it's worth looking.
look on your differential rear cover for black streaks from the dried silicone leaking out of stock bushing.
like so:

talked to the techs at Infiniti said no bushing is made, and they have to replace the whole subframe ( G35 ).
you could either do that, or replace with a solid.

get someone to drive the car over the bump and you listen the noise from outside. Pin point where the noise is coming from first. There are 100000x possibility for a car to make noise.
The car just passed 9k miles on it. It's a 2008 and it has mostly highway miles on it. It's more or less a weekend car for me.
Looks like I should plan a trip to the dealer though - I was reading the thread above and I also have some of those issues with the rattling, though it doesn't seem like the people in that thread have the "creak" I am experiencing.

he has to verfy if its coming frommin side or out i notice that my car does the little ticking noise so when i get the chance im going to look atit but. it doesnt stop the perfomance of my wip.. yes it can be anything from suspension to worn springseats.. if not that, strip ur interior and go in and try to find the solutions... z's are always noisy... so thats something thats comes with being an z owner period...
I had the exact same symptoms on the Altima I used to own and it ended up being one of the rear shocks. It would creak, bump and rattle going down the road to my house (which is bumpy) but wouldn't make any noticeable noise when driving on smooth roads.
the leak is from the bushing being toast. It's not from your differential.. the bushing has leaked down and left residue on the differential cover.

is it under warranty?

If you look inside the trunk it might be the cover is loose from the thing that holds it together or it might be cracked. The cover thing that holds the thing together on the side looks like some cheap material. Haha. Sometimes when you run over a bump you might hear the noise of something creaking or driving up a ramp. Should be two built in holes that holds it in place on both sides of the trunk. It doesnt make noises if your driving on a smooth road.

That actually causes noise?
